The study was conducted in Patuakhali throughout October 2017 to April 2017 to study on the outcome sowing date on yield and yield characteristics of wheat varieties in the southern part of Bangladesh (AEZ-13).The Significance of this research play vital role for best quality and large amount of Wheat production of southern area of Bangladesh. The research work was studied under the three varieties and the four sowing dates viz. The result reveals that the variety BARI Gom-26 (V3) given best performance (83.95 cm) at 15 November (S2) and minimum was observed in BARI Gom-24 (72.18 cm) at 15 December (S4).The number of unattainable tillers hill-1 was the maximum in BARI Gom-24 (1.65) at 1st November (S1) at 15 November (S2).The amount of spikelet’s spike-1 was the highest in BARI Gom-26 (18.92) at 15 November (S2) and the lowest in BARI Gom-26 (16.61) and BARI Gom-24 (16.61) at 15 December (S4). The grains yield was the highest in BARI Gom-26 (5.38 t ha-1) at 15 November (S2) and the lowest in BARI Gom-24 (3.24 t ha-1) at 15 December (S4). The straw yield was the highest in BARI Gom-26 (8.98 t ha-1) at 15 November (S2) and the lowest in BARI Gom-24 (5.98 t ha-1) at 15 December (S4). The biological yield was the highest in BARI Gom-26 (14.29 t ha-1) at 15 November (S2) and (9.09 t ha-1) at 15 December (S4). The highest harvest index was observed in BARI Gom-26 (40.63%) at 15 November (S2) and the minimum harvest index was observed in BARI Gom-24 (30.37%) at 1st November (S1). So, BARI Gom-26 and 15 November would be appropriate variety and optimum sowing date, respectively for obtaining the better growth and higher yield of wheat.
